Why I should be the next Guru
I am the founder of the largest LGBT wine tour and event company, and produce the only Gay Wine Weekend event in the world. I have traveled to all 7 continents of the world and am an expert at social media. I can bring a unique perspective to Gaytravel.com, that includes urban, country and adventure travel, including the hot spots in the middle east, asia, cruises, polar travel, and of course wine country. I also have a BA from one of the most prestigious Film Schools in the world – UCLA and am experienced in multi media production. I have built a gay travel company from the ground up doing so almost exclusively through digital marketing and could help grow gaytravel.com as well.
A Wine County native, I grew up outside Healdsburg, California and spent summers working in a winery in Alexander Valley. My love of travel started early, with my parents throwing us kids in the back of 1969 Buick station wagon to explore various US National Parks each summer. My first foreign travel was in high school as an AFS Exchange Student to Germany. After graduating from the prestigious UCLA Film School
I worked in Creative Advertising & Marketing for Sony, creating trailers and TV spots for Columbia and TriStar Pictures. Realizing the Internet would become a distribution medium for media, I became an internet executive at the Fortune 100 Telecommunications giant NTT, where I traveled extensively throughout Asia and the Pacific. After nearly 10 years in International Business, I returned to my roots in Wine Country, joining Fosters Wine Estates to develop their online wine business in the Americas, bringing with me my expertise in ecommerce, online marketing and social media marketing. In 2009, looking to merge my love of travel and wine with the gay community, I founded Out In The Vineyard, an experiential Wine Country Event and Travel company, promoting positive LGBT lifestyles and offering exclusive, luxury itineraries and events in Wine Country for the discerning gay traveler and our friends.
I am an experienced traveler and photographer having explored 31 countries on all seven continents. I love sharing my travel experiences and photography though my social media properties and my blog at http://markvogler.blogspot.com
